YouTube, Universal & Warner: the good, the bad and the ugly?

Yesterday, Universal Music reported that, thanks to revenue sharing, their videos on YouTube were now generating "tens of millions" of dollars.

Today, Warner Music asked YouTube to take down all of their videos, stating that they "simply cannot accept terms that fail to appropriately and fairly compensate recording artists, songwriters, labels and publishers for the value they provide".

It's gotta be a coincidence, right? Or maybe Warner choked on their Rice Krispies this morning when they saw how much Universal are making compared to them?

Remember, guys: "There are two kinds of people in the world, my friend. Those who have a loaded gun and those who dig. You dig."
